With a tagline like “An Island Vacation for Your Skin,” you know you’re investing in an experience. Celebrity actress and author Ayesha Curry is the founder and CEO of Sweet July Skin. The brand launched its first products in the month that bears its name. This skincare line branches from Ayesha’s lifestyle brand, Sweet July, which offers home decor and apparel, as well as beauty products. Sweet July Skin’s current lineup has three products: Pava Exfoliating Cleanser, Pava Toner, and Irie Power Face Oil. The ingredients pay homage to Ayesha’s Jamaican heritage with superfood nutrients like guava, papaya, and soursop. I recently tried Sweet July Skin’s product lineup and was enchanted by the multisensory experience. All three products had rich, tropical scents that evoked a walk along a Caribbean beach at sunset. The Pava Exfoliating Cleanser has a tropical sand texture that gently exfoliates skin. The guava and papaya scents blended seamlessly to smooth my skin’s texture and leave a breezy, beachy scent behind. The Irie Power Face Oil was a decadent treat for my skin, soothing congestion and leaving a summer glow in its wake. Sweet July Skin is a brand to keep on your radar, especially if you’re looking for tropical summer skincare that smells as good as it feels.

Lion Pose

Celebrity actress and entrepreneur Mindy Kaling is an investor and brand ambassador for this BIPOC, female-owned beauty brand. Lion Pose is a brand at the pinnacle of female teamwork. Founders Madhu Punjabi and Nisha Phatak joined forces with Harvard-trained dermatologists Dr. Laura Scott and Dr. Tia Paul to formulate skincare products that address common skin issues for women of color. Aside from its place in the beauty space, the founders advocate for greater inclusivity in clinical studies for people of color. Lion Pose recently released its first product, UNSPOTTED 4X Acid Jelly Night Serum, with plans for future products in the works. I recently tried Lion Pose and loved the results. The formula was gentle on my sensitive skin and left my skin feeling softer with each use. Its hyperpigmentation power is strong without leaving the unsightly sting of irritation behind. If you’re looking for a product that addresses hyperpigmentation and want to further inclusion advocacy in clinical studies, check out Lion Pose. With support from celebrity dynamo Mindy Kaling, this is a skincare brand that can’t be missed.

AMEON’s skincare mission hits a personal chord for the founder, Alina Mehrle. Mehrle’s battle with cancer inspired her to launch a skincare brand with cryotherapy influences to promote physical healing and the development of self-care rituals. The company launched its first products last July, and recently announced celebrity entrepreneur, Julia Haart as a partner and brand ambassador. AMEON’s products have potent efficacy because they strike a balance between natural-derived and biotech ingredients. AMEON’s signature product, Frozen Essence, has dynamic nutrients that hydrate and smoothe skin. Mehrle and Haart are in the midst of expanding AMEON’s product line, which currently hosts Glow Manifesto Frozen Essence, Supreme Energy Frozen Essence, Aurora Glow Serum, Baby Buddha Calming Serum, and Holy Cream Diamond Moisturizer. If you’re looking for gentle skincare products designed with scientific innovation, AMEON’s skincare line is a great place to start.
